Hi

Blaze Pascal was the philosopher and mathematician who designed a gadget which can be call first digital calculator. That’s why to show the honor Nikulas Writh named it after Pascal.

N. Wirth wrote, “The programming language Pascal was designed in the year 1968 – 1969, and I named it after the French philosopher and mathematician, who in 1642 designed one of the first gadgets that might truly be called a digital calculator”

I hope you have got the answer of your question. It was named only to show honor the French philosopher Blaze Pascal and the decision was made by Nikulas Writh himself.

Best of luck

It was only Niklaus Wirth, who gave pascal name to his discovery, in the honour of Blaze Pascal. Pascal was largely, but not exclusively, intended to teach students structured programming. A generation of students used Pascal as an introductory language in undergraduate courses.
