Hi fellow Techyv members.  I have been using Panda Internet 2010 antivirus for virus protection on my desktop.  I have now upgraded my OS from Windows XP 64 bit to Windows 8.  I now could not install Panda as I am having a "could not install software, not compatible with OS" error.  Is there a work around for this?

Hi Elija Hale Jandroo,

I think that your problem is the installer itself, Panda has separated the Installer that is compatible for Windows 7 Operating System, Vista Operating System and XP Operating System to Windows 8. They have this site also separated from other platforms. The name of the site is pandasecurity.com/windows8. If you want to download and install a Windows 8 file of panda security, you must have to get the panda anti virus from that site.

If you receive this message when using the existing installer you have, it means that installer is 32-bit which may not work on 64-bit Microsoft Windows. In this case, just download the latest version for 64-bit operating system. Some 32-bit programs run fine on 64-bit operating systems but with an antivirus or internet security program, this is different. These software are normally available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

For panda, download the latest version. Download the free version: Panda Free Antivirus. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. You can also download it on FileHippo: Panda Free Antivirus.
