Overclocking issues and resetting to stock often

I had to overclock my CPU to boost its performance. I have a Core i3-530 and after overclocking, I could do 3.6ghz at stock volt. I have since overclocked it to 4.07ghz. Is it safe to stay overclocked at a point like 3.6ghz then reset back to default frequently or do a certain speed and leave it there. I am definitely concerned about power consumption and the longevity of my CPU. Help please.

Hello Aabel!

It’s a good trick that you can easily overclock the speed of your computer. However overclocking it might cause you different conflicts in the future. You can switch to different speeds anytime. Please set it at a certain speed. Let’s make it simpler. Open your electric fun. Constantly change from spin speed 1-2-3 vice versa over and over again. You’ll here sound coming from your appliance. Same principles will apply in your CPU (Central Processing Unit). This is not a racing car that we can boost the speed to test its power. This is a processing unit that need to have a permanent speed to avoid system failure because of overheat. In fact we cannot pour water in it if it overheats.
