Hi Tamara,

This is not a problem in your outlook rather it is a problem with your browser. You might have recently updated your browser or you might have updated some plug ins because of which you browser lost support from Outlook.com. The reason of redirection for the Internet Explorer download site is really simple. It is because both Outlook.com & Internet Explorer are Microsoft products. So the compatibility & support between the sister products is supposed to be higher. They want you to upgrade your browser but of course an Outlook.com won't take you to firefox website. Try following two things to check if it works out for you.

1. Clear your browser's cache & history. Delete all temporary files & cookies. Then try to open up your attachments.

2. Update & upgrade your browser. You can view here the best browsers for outlook.com recommended by Microsoft.

3. If changing browser doesn't work out for you then try it on a different system.

4. One option is to forward the mail to some different mail provider like yahoo or gmail & see if the same problem occurs then there may be some problem with the attached files. Outlook does not support linked attachments.

Hope this solution works out for you.
