You may check your Microsoft Outlook Express settings making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are correct as well as your username and password are not misspelled.

Any typographical errors can cause login problems especially in your server’s name. Be sure that everything is spelled correctly.

If there is no problem in the settings, you may try this one out.

  1. Click Start then Run.
  2. Type TELNET BIGPOP3.WYITH.NET 110 and then press Enter. Wait until you are connected to the email server.
  3. Type USER < your username > and then press Enter. For example, USER lourd.
  4. If your username is correct you will then get the reply +OK Please enter your pass, with the PASS command. Type PASS <your password> and then press Enter. If the information is correct, you will receive OK MAILBOX OPEN.

If your attempt fails, try again using POP3.WYITH.NET in step 2.

But if your attempt is a success, then the problem is within the application you are using.

Try reinstalling the application you are using. It is possible that your password got corrupted.

You may also disable your Windows Firewall for the meantime and enable it later when you are finished.
