Outlook 2007 to keep on freezing

My Outlook 2007 freezes for 30 seconds to 2 minutes every 10 minutes or so. The Outlook 2007 is attached to an Exchange server. I do not see a reason for my Outlook 2007 to keep on freezing every so often and I find it very annoying. It happens when it is being used and also when it is minimized.

If it freezes while it is minimized, the window cannot be restored. When entering a message on Outlook, the window suddenly freezes up and would not accept entry for a few minutes, then what has been entered appears all of a sudden. What could be causing my Outlook to behave this way?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Mnifras,

Are you sure you have the latest version of  Outlook 2007? If not, I recommend you to run the latest version of it which is Outlook 2007 service pack 1 (sp1) to avoid freezing. You also need to make sure that your computer meets the system requirements for the MS office 2007. I also suggest you to delete large .pst files or .ost files because it will cause your MS outlook to freeze. It will make your outlook slow in operation such as deleting messages, reading emails, or moving emails. And lastly, make sure that your computer is NOT using  first generation solid state drive or it has slow hard disk drive because it will keep frequent pauses on your MS Outlook.

I hope it helps. Good luck!

There may be several reasons as to why it freezes. One reason may be that there are large Personal folders attached to Outlook. Large PST files results to Outlook 2007 freezing to not responding at all. You may want to close all PST files and connecting them one at a time to verify which PST is causing a problem. If the PST file is not needed you may opt to not connect it.

Another reason may be your Outlook profile may be corrupted. If that is the case, you may need to recreate a new profile to see if that can resolve your issue.
