Normally these routers or modems come predefined by the system and you don't need to install or use any kind of drivers or software’s to use them. But still if you are getting some issues, do the following.

  1. Go to net gear website.
  2. Select the respective category and look for your router model.
  3. Once find the model, go to its customer support and downloads.
  4. In the download section, you will find firmware update or driver software. Just download and install them.
  5. Once them, define the access point on the router and IP address and few other settings that are given to you by your DSL provider.
  6. Now save everything and restart the router and you will be able to use them.

If you have a network card but doesn’t have its driver, there’s no way you can install and use it. Microsoft doesn’t have a generic driver for this device and can only detect it but not install it. For your NETGEAR WGR614v9 router, the following firmware updates are available from the NEATGEAR Support page:

For other NETGEAR Wi-Fi router model, go to NETGEAR Support and search for your product. You will need your router model number here.
