Oracle DB ver. 10.2.0.5 upgrade concerns.

My Oracle 10.2.0.5 database test version is running on Windows 7 and has 11g grid control's storage area and the agent is also 11g. My concerns are:

1) Can I make use of  the usual way of upgrading process (catupgrd.sql)  in order to upgrade my database version?
2)  If we use the usual way of upgrading the database will it result to any problem on grid control?
3) Is it possible to use  the grid control immediately right after upgrade to 11g?

Hello Emily Rays,,

You can try using the usual way of upgrading the database, and that I guess is by automatically updating the database from online, and see if it will work that way. I doubt if there grid controls may be affected when you upgrade the database that way, unless the process of upgrading itself ends up having some problems that might lead to that happening.

In case upgrading online, you might just consider getting the new version of the database that you need to switch and then manually run it to install it on your system. This way too will retain the grid control as they are but you may need to do configuration like setting the system passwords.
