Hi,

I installed Mountain Lion on my computer to give it a try. After the installation I used it for some time without any failure but now I keep getting this error NSURLErrorDomain error -1100 after running the update function. I only have one Operating System installed. Has anyone experienced such an issue before?

Error: An error occurred

The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLError error – 1100.)

You are not the only one suffering from that error. Actually, in around September of 2012, this error already happened and many Mac users who are trying to update their system suddenly receive the same error on their computers: “An error has occurred – The operation couldn’t be completed. NSURLErrorDomain error -1100”.

All users are trying to figure out what went wrong and some speculate that the problem is probably a server issue from Apple servers. There are a few people who have been helped by following this procedure. You only need to delete a particular preference file indicated in this location:

  • ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist

Copy the path above and paste it into the Go, Go to Folder window in the Finder to find it. Though there were others who weren’t successful in locating the file, in case you found it, make sure you delete it.
