Opera 10.10 Installation error code 1925

Recently I have downloaded Opera 10.10 from opera website and I use windows 7 in my pc. but when I tried to install Opera via a standard user account, the following permission error was displayed:

Opera 10.10 Installer Information

Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as an administrator and then retry this installation.


I lost my administrator password of my computer, and I am running Windows 7 in my computer. I have observed this kind of error for the first time by means of any browsers that I used so far, and I have not seen any browser that is having issue in permission.

If anyone can help me please give me a solution as soon as possible.

Hi Alan,

Error 1925 is a run time error generated by operating system. First of all this can be resolved easily letting the installer to run as administrator option. Since the Administrator password missing you can try to recover the password by Windows password recovery tool or try third party software like ‘see password’.

There are varies programs that backups Admin passwords to CD’s. Otherwise install a fresh copy of Windows 7 again. Sometimes this error is prompted due to incorrect installation, so just reinstall it may be fixed.

The registry errors and missing files also cause this error and you need to use registry cleaner software to fix these issues.

To change you’re the User Account Settings do as follows:

  1. Go to Start àthen go to Control Panel
  2. Select the User Accounts and Family Safety options in control panel
  3. Select the User Account with which you trying to install.
  4. Select the Change User Account Control settings option.
  5. Adjust the setting “Notify me when program tries to make any changes on your computer.”
