Open a Photoshop file that isn’t compatible with it’s current version?

I need urgent help, please! I can’t open my Photoshop file, due to a compatibility issues. Every time I try to open it, an error prompt would show up “Could not open “filename.psd” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.”

I just recently created the file and saved it, the way I normally do, I made no changes to my software or operating system and had been using the same version ever since. Does anyone have a clue on how to solve this? I need to access the file. Thank you

I think the file you created is really not incompatible with your Adobe Photoshop version. It’s possible that the file got corrupted after you saved it maybe for an unknown reason.

Try restarting your computer then open the file again to check if it really can’t be opened. If it still can’t, try restarting your work and then save the file again.

But be sure not to close Adobe Photoshop yet after saving the file in case something bad happens again. After successfully saving the file open it after to see if it doesn’t have a problem. Don’t forget to save a backup copy of your original work for future use.

You may also try uninstalling Adobe Photoshop then check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install Adobe Photoshop again after this.
