I stumbled upon open cpn – a cool gps navigation software. But it says platform supported in Windows XP, Vista and 7, Linux, BSD, Solaris, Macintosh OSX. Thus it will work in PC. How about open cpn for phones? Open cpn for blackberry perhaps? I don’t about blackberry though, so little knowledge about this, if its and Android, etc.

Or is there any other software like open cpn that is ok with blackberry phone?

If you are interested in OpenCPN for mobile phones, unfortunately, there is no port for BlackBerry phones. OpenCPN is available for Android and iOS devices except BlackBerry. For Android users, go to OpenCPN on the Google Play store. The latest and last update is OpenCPN Android 4.1.1028 released on November 3, 2015. It requires Android 3.0 Honeycomb and higher.

It is rated 3+. The OpenCPN app for Android is free software and doesn’t offer in-app purchases. For iOS devices, go to SEAiq on the Apple App Store. It requires iOS 10.0 and higher. It is rated 4+. The SEAiq app for iOS is also free software but it offers in-app purchases. For computers, go to the OpenCPN Download page and download the version for your computer.

For Windows, it supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. For Macintosh, it supports OS X 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite, 10.11 El Capitan, 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra, 10.14 Mojave, and 10.15 Catalina. For Raspberry Pi, Linux Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Gentoo Linux, and openSUSE, see the instructions on the page.

OpenCPN is a concise and robust Chart Plotter Navigating software. It is designed for use continuously at the helm station or wheel station of a boat or underway ship which allows the operator to quickly monitor their position on precise chart images. The program can also display tide and current predictions including information on other suitably equipped vessels in the area.
