I have two DDR3 RAM installed in my desktop. Each RAM is 4 GB. So the total RAM that should be shown in BIOS should be 8 GB but it only shows 4 GB of installed memory. How can I check if both the RAM sticks are working? Can it be a problem with the RAM slots? Do Random Access Memories have compatibility issues?
Only 4 GB RAM shown in BIOS, actual RAM is 8 GB.
No, it is not the ram issue, it is operating system issue. You might be using the 32 bits operating system. It only supports the 4 GB ram. So you need to install the 64 bits operating system. Then in Bios it will show the 8 GB ram. If the problem is not solved then problem might be with the slot or with the ram.
