I upload a picture. Watch this. Whenever I want to access in ms office software’s option than the window is opened. It disturbs me a lot though it does not come always. I uninstalled the office once and again install it but there is no change in state. This pop up window says the office Assistant requires Microsoft Agent 2.0 or later. This product is available on the Office system pack. What’s the problem?

You can solve this irritating problem very easily. There are two ways to solve it in my concern.

I mention here both of these. Try one of these. But one thing try one way at a time.

Don’t mix up both of them.

Method 1: Extract Agentsvr.exe from the Cabinet File on the Office XP CD-ROM.

  1. First go to the Office XP CD.
  2. Open the FilesOSP1033 folder on the Office XP CD-ROM, and then double-click OSP1.cab.
  3. Locate and double-click Agentsvr.exe.
  4. When you are prompted to do so, browse to the Windows.
  5. In Windows folder you get Msagent folder, and then click the Save button.

If the above method does not work then try the method mentioned below.

The problem will occur with the above method if your CD does not have the file anyhow. Now try this.

Method 2: Download Agent Core Components.

You need to download some components from the internet.

To do so, download and install the Agent Core Components from the following Microsoft websites.

If you are using Windows 98 or windows NT4.0 you may try to reinstall system files update.

To start with this you should have an office XP CD-ROM in your CD-Rome drive.

1st click start, select run, type pathsetupforce, next, select repair system file update, lastly, select detect and repair errors in system files update installation.
