In Word –  Microsoft Office 2007  –  Windows XP:

This error message appear when clicking the X to close or the save icon in Word:

Microsoft Visual Basic Error

Compile Error in Hidden Module: Orbit

I sometime need to restart the program when clicking the save icon due to the program actually crashing word.

This is happening to my computer using Windows XP as an OS and the program is Microsoft Office 2007 – Word.

Dozens of time I have tried uninstalling office then reinstalling it. Also the .Net framework and also cleaning the registry but none of these things have helped. Searching on Google to find a solution has brought no result.

Any ideas would be helpful?

Dear User,

The cause for this error is startup folder contains these two files or one of them

Pdfmaker.dot

Pdfmaker.xla

And Norton Antivirus Software can also cause this.

However to fix this follow these steps,

Download and install the latest version of add-in for Adobe Acrobat by visiting adobe website

Or you can also try moving the mentioned files from the existing location

Move the Pdfmaker.dot and Pdfmaker.xla files from office or excel startup folder to a different folder .

Thank you
