Numbering of Pages on MS Word

Hello everyone! I have prepared a 350 page book with numbered pages. I want to begin the numbered pages at Page 6. I don't mind if Page 6 is numbered 1 or 6. However, the page numbers button on the Insert Section does not provide for this, in that the Format Numbers 'start at page 6' option puts that number onto the first page, whereas I want the first 5 pages to be unnumbered. Can you help, please?

Numbering of Pages on MS Word

In Microsoft Word 2007,

  1. Go to page 6
  2. Click on Page Layout Tab
  3. Then, Click Break -> Section Break -> Next Page
  4. Then, Click Insert Tab ->  Page Number -> Insert page number of any type (Top/Bottom)
  5. Then, Click Insert Tab ->  Page Number -> Format Page Numbers -> Start at (1)
  6. Then, Click -> Link to Previous
  7. Then, Delete all page number from 1 to 5
  8. That’s all
