Number of problems with printing overlays

I am quite new to the idea of printing overlays and as expected I am running into a number of problems. How is it that after uploading a certain .PRN to the AS400 and creating an overlay then printing the overlay form the data has been realigned differently from the one I had just before allowing the program to print? Before, I had to change the overlay which happens to be a contact number in MS Word 2003. Can some please help me figure out why this overlay is being aligned to the left and how to correct this?

You have to take care of the fact that the printer has a cache in which it will store the old print requests if they are not being performed.

  1. For this you first have to clear the cache from inside the windows. Restart the printer and disable and enable the printer drivers.
  2. After that, there will be a hardware button on the printer. Press it and it will discharge any extra or free things in its cache.
  3. Order your printout and it will start printing.
  4. Make sure that you have enough pages and ink so that the process is completed. After that clear the cache again so that the next user who uses the printer would not get into this trouble.
