As soon as I finished downloading Gmail app which I downloaded in the App store today, I got a ‘Notification Error’.

It seems that Gmail was taken down for a moment or the application itself is causing this.

How can I fix it?

For iPhone and iPad application Google released their new Gmail and due to some launch-time bugs involving push notifications and as follows Notification Error “no valid ‘aps-environment’ entitlement string found for application. You can fix it by below instruction

At First you have to confirm that without a wildcard you are using an app ID. After that you have to enable the app for push notifications for development.

An app ID changed by you, such as enabling push notifications; you have to create a new provisioning profile for it. Once you removed the provisioning profile from the portal, and device.

You have to make a new one using the modify app ID. Downloading it and toss with your device, I think it will work. In the future I hope it will help other.

Hi friend,

This notification error comes for some reason. First of all at the time of updating this application make sure that the internet connectivity is always on. Disconnect and then connect is not allow here.

After looking your error I found that may be there is a bug in the application that caused this type of problem. I am glad to inform you that gmail team had updated the gmail iOS application and it is available on the app store. You can easily install from app store from any iOS devices. But for this first you must uninstall or log out from the old one before you install new update.

This message represent that, you still not enabled push notifications. It must be enabled for this application ID in the iTunes Developer Portal.

Note:If you’ve already enabled push notifications and still seeing this error, than it  quite  possible  that, you enabled push notifications after the provisioning profile was created. In situation like  this, Profile will not have the required push notification settings, but must be regenerated.

To regenerate the provisioning profile

1. Find it in the iTunes Developer Portal

2.  Click Edit->*Modify*

3. Save it.

4. When you download the new profile

a. It  is recommended that  please remove the existing profile from the device and XCode before installing the new one.

Hi there Cole,

As you see, when Google made their first Gmail app for app store unfortunately they have made a silly mistake as they didn't re-generate/download the Store certificate. They just created the push certificates which actually messed up the app and broke the notification cycle.

Now, in an help forum of Google one of their employee (BrittanyBee) said that they apologize for the bug in their app which caused great headache to people using apple.

They fixed it after 2nd November,2011 and declared the stability and error free Gmail app.

So, If you are using an back dated gmail app please update it.

If you can't find it on app store then this should be in Prior section.

Thanks.
