Not closed properly it will be checked for errors

Whenever Outlook doesn't close properly, it could be that an add-in or a certain program is affecting how it closes. Let's look at the add-ins first.

In order to determine if this behavior is being caused by an add-in, try to disable all add-ins, and then do an elimination check where you enable them one by one so that you can trace what add-in is responsible. To turn off all your add-ins, the steps for each version are listed below:

• Outlook 2003 and previous – go to Advanced Options by selecting Tools>Options> Other tab> look for Advanced Options > Add-in Manager or COM Add-ins
• Outlook 2007 - go to Tools and then Trust Center. Look for Add-ins. Here you can select on the Add-in type and just click Go
• Outlook 2010 - Go to File>Options. Find the Add-ins option and then hit Go

Aside from add-ins, certain programs have been found to have issues with Outlook. This might be more difficult to track down since it all depends on the kinds of software you have in your pc and their interaction with Outlook. Some of the known programs causing this are the following:synchronization software such as ActiveSync, itunes; Skype, and virus scanners. You may want to check what new software you installed immediately before you notice the error.

It's also a good idea to update your Outlook because recent service packs can help in these types of issues.
