I've heard Nokia has been struggling with sales on their touch screen phones. So is it true that their model Asha 305 will go on sale within this month in India? Will that sale be applicable to other countries as well?
I need something not so expensive but durable phone on the side. Do you think it's worth buying?
Nokia said on yesterday that the Asha 305 model would be on the shelves this month retailing at 63 euros that is 79 dollars, an equivalent of 4 347.82609 Indian rupees excluding value added taxes. The phone is meant for low end markets to counter stiff competition offered by Google and Apple.
The other Asha 306 and Asha 311 models will have to wait until the next quarter to sell at 68 euros and 92 euros respectively. Although not a 3G phone, the Asha 305 is worth buying as the phone comes with an S40 operating system which is not as user unfriendly as the Symbian.
The Nokia Asha 305 is a discontinued GSM Smartphone operating on GPRS and EDGE network bands using GSM technology. It was announced to the public on June 2012 and released on July 2012 measuring 110.3 x 53.8 x 12.8 millimeters and weighing 98 grams. It uses two mini-SIM cards and has TFT resistive touchscreen display with 65K colors at 240 x 400 pixels screen resolution.
It supports multi-touch and microSD expandable up to 32 GB. It runs on 32 MB RAM with 64 MB ROM and 10 MB internal storage. The primary camera supports 2 megapixels and 176 x 144 video recording at 10 fps. There is no secondary camera. It has 3.5-millimeter jack, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR support, stereo FM radio with RDS support, and microUSB 2.0.
Wi-Fi and GPS are not supported. It has built-in accelerometer. The pre-installed web browser supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, and Java. It runs on removable BL-4U Li-Ion 1110 mAh battery with standby time up to 528 hours and talk time up to 14 hours. It is available in Silver White, Red, Mid Blue, and Dark Grey colors.
