Nokia introduced a cell phone with a series number of 6600.

It gets affected by a virus whenever we switch the Bluetooth on.

This virus was commonly found in every set of this series.

Why was this virus encountered?

And which anti-virus can protect the 6600 series from this particular virus?

What is the behavior of this virus?

The virus that affected your system is a Worm virus that floods a data in your memory.

That will lead your cellphone unit to slow processing.

The possibilities that you get this virus is from:

1. Memory Card placed in the PC and then put it back on your cellphone.

2. Pirated applications that has viruses included in the file.

3. From other Bluetooth partners.

Now to remove this, you have many two solutions:

1. You have to install an anti-virus software for your cellphone. There are many if your search Google and there are free trials available, but I suggest buying a full version.

2. You can reformat your cellphone and formatting has two different ways:

Method 1

On you dial screen enter this input *#7370# and then select Yes, the enter 12345 for the code and then wait.

Method 2

Turn your cellphone first, press and hold the Green Dial, #, 5 altogether and then turn it off without removing your hold to the three buttons.

Then wait until it says formatting.

The Nokia 6600 is actually affected by the Cabir virus. It is a Bluetooth and MMS worm.

It is capable of spreading over Bluetooth, MMS and MMC cards when inserted to infected phones.

The virus uses Bluetooth for spreading by searching for other phones that it can reach over Bluetooth and sends SISfiles to all phones it can find.

The SIS files sent are named with random file names so that users cannot be warned to avoid files with any given name.

According to me formatting the phone is not a very good solution since it deletes all the data stored in the phone so I advise to use the anti virus called "Anti-Cabir".

This anti virus is made specially for the Cabir virus.

This should remove the virus easily.
