Unable to RDC into "Somename" Server. When I run the mstsc command it throws the following error

:—————————Remote Desktop Disconnected—————————

The remote session was disconnected because there are no Terminal Server client access licenses available for this computer. Please contact the server administrator.

NOTE: I am able to logon to the server using mstsc /admin command.

Hi Iodid,

You may want to check a couple of things on your server.

·         Check that there are sufficient number of CALs for users that needs to use and connect via remote assistance. You can check this via the Terminal Server licensing. Information can be found here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc773015(WS.10).aspx.

·         If your server does not have adequate number of CALs, you then need to purchase them and install them automatically.

·         If your server licensing is per user, it should not require any license. You need to contact Microsoft Clearinghouse to set up and activate the licensing server of the correct mode.

·         If the server licensing is set per device, you may need to change the Terminal licensing mode. Details can be found here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc994792(WS.10).aspx.
