Hello, I have a HP dv6000 laptop (yes, it was trash) and i just renewed the motherboard with a secondhand one after having the graphics fail on the original because of the habitual overheating of the CV. But I am having another problem, there’s no audio. Somebody have any ideas on fixing this laptop problem? Thanks.

The reason as to why there is no audio after you changed the motherboard of your system may be because of the following:

  • First, the sound card, which is a hardware device, is missing on that motherboard. Therefore you will need to get a sound card and have it fixed on your computer.
  • But if you are sure the sound card is present on the motherboard, then another possible cause for the lack of sound is lack of sound drivers. If the computer can connect to the internet, you will need to go to the device manager and then right click on the sound drivers and update them online. They will be downloaded and then installed on your computer.
