I am getting this message No applications configured for synchronization.
I am connecting my BlackBerry to the PC via the USB while the desktop manager is launched.
Is there a reason for this?

The main cause of this problem is because you have not yet selected any applications for synchronization. Now, here is the solution to your issue. You must build up the translators for synchronization, to do that, please follow these steps:
Connect your Blackberry device to the personal computer and open Blackberry Desktop Manager. Open Intellisync and click Configure PIM. Select an application and click Choose. Select a translator from the Available Translator list and click OK.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the remaining applications. Click OK to close the Configuration window. From the Intellisync window, select Synchronize PIM and click Synchronize now.
