Networked computers not printing documents

Hi there,

I have lately installed Dell B1165nfw to my networked computer, every time I send a document for printing from another computer (not the one the printer is plugged in), the queuing is done perfectly, then the printer does not respond, I have updated drivers, checked printing status and it shows spooling, then it sticks there like forever, why could this be happening, and how does sharing of peripheral devices work?

It is important that you make sure that the network is working and that your computer and another computer where the printer is plugged in are shared on the network, also make sure that the printer connected PC is turned on while sending print command from elsewhere.

Ensure that all network devices including multiple computers and your printer are using same type of internet address and subnet mask. . In case the printer is added to your system using a TCP/IP address then un-install it and connect the printer through its name and not through his IP and DHCP can keeps on changing IP after every reboot. Ensure that printer drivers are compatible with the version of Windows that you're running in both the computers. The correct printer driver must remain installed in both the operating systems.
