Hello,

I am trying to install NI LabWindows on my Windows XP OS but during the installation it gives me the following error message “installation has failed”. I updated to the latest version but again the same error appeared. Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Jack,

The message “ An error occurred during the installation of assembly” would mean that there is an error with installing the needed .Net framework in the computer. If you are running Windows XP then the issue would be the .NET 3.5 installed, though it is a native component well it should be however there are instances that it can be corrupted as you work on your computer. You may run a repair on .NET framework 3.5 on your computer but you may want to test the other .NETs also as those component are link with each other. I also notice that the version you are trying to install is a 2012 version then it may be looking for or trying to install .NET 4.0 you can easily download that component from Microsoft.
