As you can see, the key to the solution of this problem is in this sentence: ‘’ …compatible with this version of Windows’’ So, basically, you encountered a problem with non compatible version of Open Office and Windows. Judging by the skin of your screenshot, you are using Windows 7 which sometimes have problems with some aspects of Open Office. If you’re not willing to uninstall Windows 7, the best solution for you will be to try to find some version of Open Office which is compatible with Windows 7, delete all of the previous installations and start again.
