I just wanted to know whether apple still signs 5.0 and whether not, how I can be able to downgrade it.
I am using iOS 5.0.1. Using the Redmond Pie downgrading guide I added "18.104.22.168 gs.apple.com" to the host files, and Pwned DFU with redanOw and in iTunes I entered Alt-clicked Restore, and "Extracting software” and "Verify iPhone Restore with Apple" showed then an error came up.
This is shown in details below.
The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. This device is not eligible for requested build.

Need Help to Downgrade Apple iOS
Apple doesn't sign older iOS versions once new ones come out. The latest version is 5.1.1 – the one that Apple is currently signing. If you haven't opened Cydia on iOS 5.0 when Apple was still signing it than you, kind of, ran out of luck.
For the process of downgrading to work, you need SHSH+APTicket for the firmware you want to downgrade to – in your case 5.0. If you haven't saved these locally or on your PC/MAC then the procedure is a no go. If you have them you just need to Stitch the SHSH blobs to the firmware with redsn0w.
Just remember from now on to save your SHSH, when Apple is signing your running firmware, by running Cydia. This guarantees you will be able to downgrade later on from a newer version.
I hope that I have answered your question.
