Your USB Mouse may have stopped working for several reasons:

1. Low batteries – Make sure that your 2 AA batteries is new or still has enough power to support your USB Mouse.

2. Plugging the Unifying wireless receiver to a different port – Changing ports may require your device to run the driver installation or redo the installation process.

3. Plugging the Unifying wireless receiver to a different computer- It may change the device recognition of the receiver.

4. Plugging the Unifying wireless receiver to a USB hub – The power supplied by the USB hub might not be enough to drive the device.

5. Interference with other electronic wireless device – other wireless device might be using frequency close enough to the frequency used by the receiver that may cause interference.

If you are using a wireless mouse and it suddenly stopped working, check if the battery is not dead. A wireless mouse is powered by a battery. It connects to the computer using the USB receiver that you plug in to the USB port. Unlike a standard wired USB mouse that is powered directly from the USB port, a wireless mouse has to be powered independently using a battery.

This device normally connects to the computer via Bluetooth connection where the USB plug serves as the Bluetooth receiver. If the battery is weak, the mouse will malfunction. If the mouse is not working, check if the battery is not exhausted. Try replacing the battery with a fresh one. If this doesn’t work, try transferring the USB receiver to another USB port.

If this doesn’t work, make sure you installed the driver for your mouse. Go to Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 then download the driver.
