Hello everyone,

I am using Envy 6T-1200 with Windows 8 64-bit. The problem is I cannot boot in Windows. I tried the USB Recovery disc to recovery it and go back to its original settings. It runs the HP Recovery Manager then my computer restarted and showed the process of recovering with few times of restarting. Once, it shows BSOD with the following error:

Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

The boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors.

File: EFIMicrosoftBootBCD
Error Code: 0xc000014c

You’ll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media like a disc or USB device, contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

Press Esc for UEFI Firmware Settings

I tried the USB disc again but my computer did not detect it. Hitting the Esc key is the only option that works . The rest of the function keys are not working (F1, F2, F9, F10 and F11) It always ended with BSOD error. I run a quick hard drive test and then perform a memory test and there is no issues found. I also tried the Windows 8 installation disc with my external disc yet it did not fix the issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

To fix your problem please try the following:

You can change the setting of hard drive mode in bios to raid, achi or legacy etc. After making the changes try reinstalling the Windows.

You should make sure that Fn lock is off. Then restart the laptop and start tapping F10.

If it does not help you remove the battery of both BIOS and Laptop and wait for 1 hour then connect the battery. After that try entering the BIOS.

Or if your Laptop has a warranty then you should go to the shop from where you purchase your laptop.
