Yes there is alternative option for this kind of problem. But downloading speed not only depends on your software but also depends on your net speed and your browser. You can change change your net connection or you can change your browser if it was older than present or you can upgrade your download software.

Otherwise if the file size is so much than it takes too many time or if the computer was run so much program than it takes lot of time to do that. So I suggest that do one thing at a time not so many if is your problem otherwise you can change or upgrade your software or browser.
