My monitor frequently turns on and off unexpectedly

I am in the middle of doing something in my computer when my computer monitor turns off unexpectedly.

Before I just think that it was caused by a fluctuating power in our area.

In the later time, the monitor turns-off frequently and I heard a little tick sound inside the monitor before turn on and off.

My monitor is Samsung 17” CRT Monitor.

The ticking sound you have heard is the relay inside the monitor. The relay turns and off automatically when the power saving option is on in your computer. This is the electronic component that was triggered on the power management option when the power saving activates.

Power fluctuations also triggered by this issue. We need a plenty of power for the monitor to work on. A full white color of the background will consumed a large amount of power.

To solve this problem, you must connect your computer or the monitor not directly on the power outlet. Purchase 500 watts of AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) so that the AVR will be the one to manage the shortage and overage of the power supplied into your monitor.

There is a monitor that the frequency is adjustable. A 60Hz monitor consumes more power compared to 59Hz monitor. There is a monitor that on the On-Screen menu or settings you have the option to change the frequency of your monitor. From 60Hz change it into 50Hz.

If your Samsung analog monitor randomly turns on and off when using it, it means it needs servicing. The problem there is with the power supply caused by a faulty electronic component that needs to be replaced. Bring your monitor to an electronic service center or computer repair shop to have it checked and serviced.

There’s no need to check and fix it yourself because that “ticking” is on the motherboard of the monitor. It is an indication that the monitor will soon fail. That’s why it needs to get fixed before it completely fails. Also, don’t cover the ventilation openings on the monitor. Monitors, whether analog or digital, have small openings at the back.

These holes or openings serve as ventilation shaft for the device to prevent it from overheating. Don’t put any cover on top of the monitor while using it because it will prevent proper ventilation and will cause overheating.
