My Mac Outlook 2011 to the HTTP Exchange server

I have connected my Mac Outlook 2011 using the system preferences-network proxy setting with the HTTP Exchange server.

I am able to access my Mac Outlook 2011 perfectly but I am unable to connect to the internet to browse. I have an Exchange Server 2007. Nothing I do seems to work and I find many people encountering the same difficulties that I’ve been having with connecting Mac Outlook 2011 to the HTTP Exchange server through the system preferences-network proxy settings.

Can you help do connect my Mac Outlook 2011 to the HTTP Exchange server through system preferences-network proxy settings and be able to access both Mac Outlook 2011 and browse the internet.

What the proxy is intended to do is to fix your company network to the Internet. Therefore when you insert a proxy server address to your Network settings, then by doing that you will not cut off you from the Internet but what you will have done is just insert incorrect proxy settings.

In case you are using a hosted Exchange solution, then you will be accessing the Internet to acquire to it. The browser that you are using, say you have Safari browser, then it should be able to work also. Some other browsers like Firefox may be having their own personal proxy settings that must be put separately within the applications preferences.
