Is my Lenovo ideapad b560 battery dead?

I have a 15.6" LED Lenovo Ideapad b560 laptop with Pentium P6100 2 GHz processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB HDD.  Why is it that when I remove the power adaptor, the laptop also blacks out, no power.  Could it be that my 440 mAh 6 cell lithium-ion is already busted?

Dear James Craigos,

Unfortunately, the main reason for such case in which your laptop blacks out after removing the power adaptor is that the battery needs to be replaced with a new one
The new battery can be easily found in any laptop shops, or you can order it from the amazon.com site.
Hope to be helpful for you
