I have a Kodak 4.0 Mega Pixel Camera which having a #E45 Error. It makes the error sound and images are blurred when I zoom in.  Now, I cannot really do anything with it anymore and it just displays the error then turns off. Is there solution for this? I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hi ace,

Actually #E45 error is a famous error in Kodak cameras. This error is caused due to the failure of lens alignment system (your lens is stuck) this can be either in closed or open position.

The two major reasons for this that i have seen are dropping the camera and damp as both of them can give you this error.

Now my advise to you is contacting your service if the camera is still under warranty as this is a technical problem and if its not under warranty you may want to give this solution a try.

Turn your camera on and while the error is being displayed give the camera a good shake and a slap against your hand and try to open it again because the error could be simply caused by some grit in the gears of the lens. hope this helps out

This camera model too doesn’t accept or require any firmware upgrade or something like this. It’s a fully functional device that doesn’t require its system to be upgraded.

The camera is packaged with a CD so you can transfer some of the pictures taken by the camera to the computer. But I think its computer application doesn’t include any camera diagnostic functionality.

The camera’s software works on Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium, and Windows XP. The application also supports installing it on Mac OS X 8.6 and 9.x. To view the complete specifications of your digital camera, visit KODAK EASYSHARE DX6490 Zoom Digital Camera.

Since this is the current state of your device, it would be best if you will return it back to the store where you bought it to let them check the severity of the damage and for proper handling.
