Dear,

Nice to see your question. Here you did not mention that your keyboard is wireless or not. if wireless then must be battery there. if it is ps2 then battery not need. Please find below solution for both.

1. PS2: please shutdown your computer then disconnect your keyboard and connect again and start your computer.

2. Wireless: Please change your battery then press the connect button which you find back side of your keyboard and the wireless component which is connect with your CPU, there is also a connect button. Please press both connect button at a time for 30 second.

Hope your keyboard will work now.

Hello Mr. Lindacollins

I read your problem. But I Think this is not a very critical problem. Now I try to give some workable solution for your problem. Please read the below solution and work step by step then I think you will cover up the problem.

It is not important that your keyboard is wireless or with wire. If your keyboard is connected with wire then there are no batteries. Or if your keyboard is wireless then there is batteries.

If your keyboard is with wire or PS2 or like a cable then switch off your computer and disconnect your keyboard then connect your keyboard again and then switch on your computer and start.

If your keyboard is wireless then check the keyboard battery and if it need to change then change the battery then connect your keyboard following the rules correctly.

I hope your problem has been solved by these solutions.

Thanks from

Your problem is that the keyboard had stopped functioning when you rotated the tablet display.

Usually this type of problem occurs when the computer is powered off or in Hibernation/Sleep mode.

You can rest your hardware functionality to get back on the keyboard.

Your problem can be resolved if you follow the steps:

  1. When the notebook/tablet power is on, rotate the display to reveal the keyboard.
  2. Then Shut down the notebook.
  3. Disconnect AC power adapter from the tablet and Remove the Battery.
  4. Hold the power button to the right for 30 sec now Put the battery back.
  5. Plug the Ac adapter and power on the system

After the PC has completed booting to Windows, please confirm the functionality of the keyboard.

It is not a very critical problem. Try this solution, it will fix this issue. Please follow the instruction below.

If the keyboard is not functioning at all, You must have a check that the keyboard is connected correctly to the computer. Check all the keyboard's plugs to make sure that there are no loose connections. If you are using USB port then Connect the keyboard to your computer by using a different USB port.

Or If you are using a wireless keyboard, then there must be a chance that the batteries are expired or wrongly installed. Please check the batteries are installed correctly or not. If the batteries are in the right directions and not working, then replace the old batteries with new one.

Hi,

Your problem is your keyboard is not working, the brand of your keyboard is HP, and you don't do anything in your keyboard and how come it doesn't work?

Do keyboards have batteries?

Answer: maybe there is no problem of your keyboard or the brand of your keyboard HP it either factory defected or your not properly installing the driver or it is not connected to your computer ,keyboards are not battery operated it depend upon the type of your keyboard ,

Your keyboard is plug into compute securely. Unplug it and plug it back, plug it into the keyboard jack and not into the mouse jack ,if the keyboard was an unplugged plug it back and reboot the computer, if the Keyboard doesn't work on boot up power down the computer and try to borrow friends known-good keyboard plug the new keyboard up and boot up the computer .

If the keyboards work the old keyboard is bad and you need to replace it!

Hello Lindacollins,

No. A keyboard doesn’t have a battery. Unless you are using wireless keyboards.

If you are referring to a Laptop keyboard I advise you to see a Laptop or a Computer Technician. It might be the keyboard really don’t functioning well in other words has a factory defect or you did something that causes your keyboard malfunction.

If you are using an external keyboard (not wireless) I advise you to buy a new one if you don’t have any idea how to fix it.

Hope it helps 🙂
