SOS message for the technical experts.

I am unable to use almost any program in my computer. Whenever I try to run the program a hard disk error occurred stating that my hard disk is doing some thing wrong with the program

The actual error appear is

Windows hard drive error

Windows detected a hard drive problem.

A hard drive error occurred while starting the application.

I am unable to take backup as even normal pc operation becomes impossible on that computer. I have very important data on that pc so I want to save it before proceeding for installation of os or something else.

Kindly help me suggesting measures to get my data out of the box before my hard disk dies and I felt just like the owner of TITANIC.

Dear Tarum

This problem is not only due to the hard disk error, there might be some potential viruses.

Whatever you can get back your data. First you log on to windows using safe mode. To do this while starting the windows press F8 . this will show you a lot of option , there you select Safe mode option. I guess there will be no problem to back up your data. This will solve the issue.

Thank you .

Hi,

Try to make a system restore in your PC put it to the restore point where the last time you use your computer with no issue.

If that doesn’t work then the only way to repair your computer is to reformat your hard disk,

But before you reformat your hard disk dismount it in your PC and slave it in to another PC to back up your important data on your hard disk.

When it’s done you are now ready to format your hard disk with no worries.

As hard disk being a mechanical device it will eventually die or expire for sure. As we store tones of data in our hard disk it would be a great idea to format the hard disk and check the performance of the hard disk. If the hard disk doesn't work still then we need to get a new hard disk in the market. As we don't keep a back up of the hard disk it is well recommended to store the data in any of the data cards else we will loose all the important data of ours. It is mandatory to check whether there are any magnetic scratches on the platters and format the hard disk. If same problem persists then it is a sign that the hard disk is no longer alive and we should get a new one.
