My firefox is broken and I don’t want to use internet explorer

I was wondering why is it that whenever I use Firefox, I keep on going to webpages that I don't intend to.. and that it doesn't route to the website I wanted to go to. (like say I want to go to https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl, it goes to tinyurl.ida or some weird ads page).

But whenever I use internet explorer (which is awfully slow). Its ok.

Need your thoughts on this.. (do i have a virus? do i need to format my computer)

🙂

Hello CardioMachines!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Firefox. Don't worry though, we'll get that taken care of for you.

Click on the Firefox button located on the upper left hand corner of the screen

or alternatively – press ALT, T, O.

It should direct you to the options page

Please go to advanced then networks tab, and then settings.

Make sure that the one selected is "No Proxy".

(There should be nothing on the Manual proxy configuration)

Click ok, then restart mozilla firefox, and then you are good to go.

If that does not work, Just run firefox in safe mode and then reset it to the original settings.

As for your internet explorer being slow.

You may want to clear your cache and cookies

1.) Press alt, t, d..

2.) uncheck preserve favorites website and data

3.) Check the rest. (warning.. it will delete all cookies and you'll have to re-enter your passwords- don't check the things that you may deem inconvenient)

That should do it!

Sincerely,

Hello,

Same problem here too. My Firefox acts like this too. Sometimes it even crashes. I was worried. During the time my Firefox didn’t work, I used Google Chrome which is good but I missed using Firefox. So I wanted to fix it and this post here has helped me very much.

Thanks
