I used  windows 7 ultimate. my computer is way too slow and it's meant to be at the fastest speed there is. Also is it the trend micro causing it to go even slower. I liked it better with windows xp. It still freezes and sometimes won't go off a page when you click to go off. it won't load or open a page. then you are on something else and 10 minutes later the page comes up that you wanted before. i just spent 250 dollars to reinstall windows and get the windows 7 put in. so anyone got any thoughts on trend micro. I am also running superantispy free version to pick up the malware that trend might not pick up. any suggestions.
and yes i have been trying to contact the guy that does my computer and i am so pi……ed off with this thing.

Window 7 needs at least 2GB RAM to run. When you get a computer that was prepared for XP & trying to put windows 7 on it you face into lot's of problems. Win 7 needed more from the xp pc to run stable.you have mentioned that you have a xp pc with 1GB RAM. This is not much but xp runs fine with that amount as long as its only a basic user Computer. Saying now you put win 7 on that same pc with 1GB. The win 7 system need  more from the pc itself than xp does . That  is why when you had windows xp it ran great. All operating system will have a minimum requirements to run it & a recommended requirement. I don't have trend micro on my own pc now but did for about 2 years. TM is a great program. Yes it can cause some slow downs but I never had much problems with it. The AV was kind of picky. Go back to xp bro unless you have the money to buy a faster pc or upgrade the one you have. Be warned the pc you can only be supped up so much. It may be more worth your money to sell that windows 7 operating system to someone &  just upgrade and put that 250 bucks into your xp. I have one xp pc vista and one windows 7. Still love my xp most granted vista more securely .TM tends to block user actions. Like running a program sometimes it gives false positives. Scanning was little slow but once you trained it, it will do well.

If the computer used to work well with windows XP, but now it is very slow when you installed on it windows 7, then the problem here has to do with the RAM capacity that you are using on your computer. You have to know that windows XP is much lighter compared to windows 7 because it does not have many packages of the windows applications as windows 7 does hence it can run on a computer with a much lower memory with fast speeds.

But due to windows 7 being heavier, it may be straining the memory space that is available on your computer hence making it slower when it comes to executing processes. The workaround here will be for you to upgrade the RAM capacity of your computer so as to increase the memory speed.
