Hi everyone, My Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z would not turn on. It would just give me error code 62 with the VGA LED lit up. I did not make any changes but was just playing a few games before I turned it off last night. Can anybody help me please?

If this is a problem with your graphics card, there are times that you will not see anything on the screen. The usual problems that can be associated with a problem in the display is having a bad display, other characters are displayed on your screen, or sometimes the image looks as if there is a fold in it. But since you see an error 62 on your screen, try removing your keyboard from the port then insert it back and then start the computer again. See if that error code will appear again.

If it still the same, try removing your RAM from the CPU then start again the computer. Be sure that the computer is turned off whenever you remove and connect a device to and from the inside. If the CPU doesn’t have any RAM installed on it, it will generate beep sounds. This is a good sign that your motherboard is working. Turn it off again. If you have more than 1 RAM, install only 1 then start again the computer and see if it boots now.

Turn off again the CPU then insert the second one. Start again the computer and see what happens. If you only have 1 RAM on your CPU and it fails again, you should try cleaning the bottom part of the RAM card that connects to the slot. Use any ordinary pencil eraser on the copper part of the card. Rub the eraser on both sides of the card then finish it off with a clean cloth and attach it again to the slot and start the computer.

The error is on you VGA card. Try to check it if on device manager if it still working. Most of the time errors in games are caused by low specs of computer. If you play a lot, it much better to use high specs of computer hardware specially you video card. Try to check also the fan settings of your video card. You can download some software that controls the fan speed of your video card. Sometimes error also occurred because of out of date VGA driver. You must update it regularly to avoid errors. Just go to device manager then you can update it there. Good luck.
