Hi guys,

My Adobe Flash Player works no more on Internet Explorer 8. I visited some sites through Internet Explorer and found inactivity of Adobe Flash Player playing videos on it. The same problem remains with the Mozilla Firefox. I tried to uninstall Internet Explorer 8 but failed. How can I get a remedy of this problem? Please help.

Thanks in advance.

You can check whether the adobe flash player is enabled in internet explorer. Follow below steps

  1. Open IE browser window
  2. Go to tools and click on manage-add-ons
  3. You should see Shockwave Flash Object under toolbars and extensions
  4. Check the status and if it is disabled then you can enable it.

If you have unable to find Shockwave Flash Object under toolbars and extensions that means it’s not installed successfully and try to reinstall it from below site.

Hi Jonathoon,

I will certainly help you to solve your Flash Player problem. The Internet Explorer version 8 is a old browser. All the plugin developers including Adobe and Microsoft itself have stopped the support for this. Due to this reason, you are unable to view Flash content on IE 8.

Download Internet Version 9 and install on the top of IE 8. No need to uninstall IE8. After installing, it will run fine. Flash Player for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are different.

Hello My Dear,

It seems that your Flash Player is out of date, and there are new versions available on the internet,. It is also possible that your Internet Explorer does not support the flash player that you are using. The solution to these issues is to update your Flash Player. Just go to this website and download the latest Flash Player.

You can also download the updates for your older version that is installed on your system currently.

I hope it works better. Thanks.

Adobe Flash Player is a web browser plug-in that supports all browsers. With Flash Player, it allows your web browser to play different flash contents like videos, flash-based games, music, banners, and more. Adobe releases regular monthly update for the Flash Player plug-in. To allow your browser to support modern flash contents, you should update it regularly. By default, Adobe Flash Player updates itself automatically without user intervention.

But you can also set it to notify you once an update is available for download so you can download and update it manually. Whichever you choose, you should update Flash Player on a regular basis. Different web browsers require different Flash Player plug-in type and there are three: ActiveX, PPAPI, and NPAPI. For your Microsoft Internet Explorer, you need to download Adobe Flash Player ActiveX.

For Mozilla Firefox, you need to download Adobe Flash Player NPAPI. For Google Chrome, Opera, and other Chromium-based browsers, you need to download Adobe Flash Player PPAPI. You need to install all of these if you use these web browsers on your computer. As for the Microsoft Internet Explorer, you cannot uninstall it.

It is the default and built-in web browser of Microsoft Windows and it cannot be removed from the system. You can disable it from the operating system by unchecking it in the “Add/Remove Windows Components” section of the “Add or Remove Programs” applet in the Control Panel.
