Since you are using Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Mac 2011 and you are running Mac OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks then there should be no problem. You have a much higher version of Mac OS X than what is required. Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Mac 2011 only requires Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard and higher.

You probably need to check the amount of installed RAM on your computer because Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Mac 2011 requires at least 1 GB RAM. You should also check if your hard drive is formatted using the HFS+ file system. Try reinstalling Microsoft Office PowerPoint for Mac 2011 and see if it works.

If your computer meets all the necessary requirements to run the application then there should be no problem. If in case you are not using HFS+ file system on your hard drive, you probably need to format your hard drive using this file system. To format a hard drive using HFS+, go to Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility, and then select the drive you wish to format.

Click Erase located at the top of the screen and then select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for the format option. Click Erase at the bottom of the screen. Click Erase again when you receive a warning.
