The error message is showed at the time of  I attempt to configure Out of Office Assistant in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

Your out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unviable. Try again Later.

Hi Nadiajgoff,

You can follow the steps below to help you fix the issue that you are experiencing.

1.       Go to Run, type regedit.

2.       Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0Outlook

3.       Under the Edit menu, go to New, and then click Key.

4.       Type Cached Mode, and then Enter.

5.       Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0OutlookCached Mode

6.       Under the Edit menu, go to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

7.       Type OnlineABForNewPrimarySMTP, and then press Enter.

8.       In the Details pane, right-click OnlineABForNewPrimarySMTP, and then click Modify.

9.       In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

 

That should help you fix the problem that you are facing.

This problem could be occurred if you client computer doesn’t have the configuration of a default gateway. You have to add the DWORD value in the DEfConnectOpts registry.

In Outlook 7:

  1. Start-Run-Type regedit and press Enter.
  2. Locate the following key and click the subkey:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0OutlookRPC

  1. Select New from the edit Menu and click DWORD value.
  2. Then Type DefConnectOpts and press Enter.
  3. Right click DefConnectOpts and click Modify.
  4. Type 0 in the value data box and click OK.
  5. Exit Registry Editor.
