Hi,

Recently, I have uninstalled Office 20017 and installed Office 2010 with a separate version of Access 2010. Now I can open MS Acc2010 DB but when I try to open legacy DB written in 2007 I get the following error message. What could be the cause of this error? How can I overcome this problem? Help me to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

Error: Your Microsoft Access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file ‘MSSTDFMT.DLL’ version 1.0. *To ensure that your database or project works properly, you must fix this reference. MS Access 2010 Registry Issues

Hi Marsh,

The problem seems to be connected to Visual Basic. Your project uses a file that seems to be missing after the upgrade. Try the below steps:

  1. Open visual basic editor in the database (Alt+F11). Select Tools > References. You might find few items in this box that begin with MISSING keyword. Uncheck the items, close the db and open it to see if it works
  2. Re-install office
