I am receiving an error message that says “The procedure entry point MpHeapReAlloc could not be located in the dynamic link library ODBC.dll.” on opening Pinnacle Studio 10 installed on my Windows 7 computer. I believe it is compatible with Windows XP. Pinnacle media manager, instant DVD Recorder and Studio Tutorial are working fine. Why am I receiving this error message?

Hi Karla!

Pinnacle Studio 10 is not compatible with Windows 7. Whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit, that is why you are getting that kind of error in your application. The best solution for you to resolve your problem is to upgrade your Pinnacle Studio to a newer version since the only option you have is to upgrade it. Check their website for the updated version of Pinnacle Studio.

Hope this helps!

Most of the time, a DLL error such as this, is caused by incompatibility between the application and the operating system. This happens if the application you installed is not compatible with your operating system. Sometimes, if the application is compatible but you still receive the error, you probably just missed installing a component like Microsoft .NET Framework.

You’re right. Pinnacle Studio 10 supports Windows XP but not Windows 7 that’s why it is not compatible. The application “Pinnacle Studio 10” is designed only for Microsoft Windows XP. Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 are not supported.

It requires at least 1.4 MHz or faster Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor, 512 MB RAM, Microsoft DirectX 9-compatible video card with 32 MB video RAM, sound card, 500 MB free space, and CD writer or DVD writer for burning CDs or DVDs. If you want to continue using Pinnacle Studio 10, use it on Windows XP only. It will never work on Windows 7.

You may also try running the program under compatibility mode with Windows XP but this is a long shot and doesn’t guarantee that it will work.
