MP Navigator EX error need help

I am using MP Navigator EX using Windows XP 32 bit Operating System to scan my important documents but it kept saying “The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed. Install it and then retry”. I have tried to remove this error by installing the supported driver needed for this software but got nothing. Your assistance would be helpful. Thanks!

When you received this error though you already installed the required driver, it is recommended that you uninstall the MP Navigator program and the current drivers. To uninstall, click Start, Control Panel, and then Add or Remove Programs. Select PIXMA MP160 on the list, for example, then click Remove or Uninstall. Follow the succeeding instructions. Repeat the same steps to uninstall the MP Navigator program.

Once both MP Navigator and drivers are uninstalled, download and install the latest drivers and version of MP Navigator for your printer. If you have PIXMA MP160, for example, you can download the latest drivers and MP Navigator from PIXMA MP160 – Canon. On the download page, before downloading, verify that the operating system detected in Operating System is correct. If it is not, select your operating system.

Since you are using 32-bit Windows XP, your only option to download the latest version is from the Recommended Downloads section. The Drivers section where you supposed to get the latest drivers doesn’t have any driver for Windows XP. In Recommended Downloads section, download both the MP Navigator program and the MP Driver file. Once both files have been downloaded, go to the download folder and begin the installation.

When installing, follow this sequence: install first the MP Drivers file and then the MP Navigator program when it is finished.
