If you are a windows user this is how you do it:

– Click on the task bar ( blank portion)

–  Hold down the mouse key and drag the task bar to the position where you want it to be. As you said left side of the screen.

– Now release the mouse button.

Windows Vista and Windows XP users  should make sure to disable the  " Lock the taskbar " option.

You can check the status of your task bar:

– Goto Start >> Settings >> Control panel

– Double click " Taskbar and start menu "

 —  if you are a Windows Vista user or Windows XP user,  select task bar and confirm that the " lock the taskbar " is not checked. If it is checked, uncheck it  and save .  If unchecked already, click cancel .

*** If any time you want to reset your task bar to its default position, restart your computer in safe mode . Rebooting will set your task bar to default position.

At first, Put the cursor in the taskbar and press right click. you will get a window where You see the few options. Such as : toolbars, cascade windows, Tile windows Horizontally, Tile windows vertically, show the desktop, undo Tile, Task manager, Lock the Taskbar, properties etc.

What you see now in the Lock the taskbar option? If you see the check mark in the Lock the taskbar option then you will have to uncheck the option. after doing this, put the cursor in the taskbar again. and then pressing left click move the cursor into the left side. you will see the taskbar at that side. Thank you.

First take your cursor on the Taskbar and Then Click and hold the click button and then you can drag it to any direction. If you drag it to left it will be visible on left section, if on right you can see it in right direction and same as on the top and bottom and in this way you can move your taskbar anywhere you want in your computer and it is upto you that where you want to keep this Taskbar.
