Mountain Lion’s notification system for any IMAP account
I need to have notifications for unread mails from my IMAP email accounts. How can i set this up

The setup to get notifications for unread mails for IMAP email account is as mentioned below:
1) Go to 'Menu bar', Select 'Mailbox', Click 'New Smart Mailbox'
2) Enter 'Notifications' in the Smart Mailbox name
3) Select 'Message is in Mailbox' option
4) Click 'OK'
5) Navigate to 'Menu bar', Click 'Mail', Select 'Preferences'
6) Go to the 'New Message Notifications' tab, select the 'Notifications' value
7) Click 'OK'

Actually, it is possible – here's how:
This worked for me in OS 10.8.3:
In System Preferences > Notifications, disable all Notifications from Mail.
Then in Mail > Preferences > Rules, add a rule the enables notifications for the specific account:
If [any] of the following conditions are met:
[Account] [name of the account you want notifications from]
Perform the following actions:
[Send Notification]
