My friend used JungleDisk previously, he still like Dropbox' simplicity. It just works. JungleDisk has many more knobs to play with. Dropbox does deduplication across all data stored only, not just your personal data. JungleDisk doesn't', it only looks at your own account. Further more, there are more encryption and storage options, so you don't have to hand out your data unencrypted to a third party unless you want to.

Dropbox is a very simple brand, and simplicity is very attractive when it comes to a complex problem like folder syncing. Can Dropbox find piracy by checking the hosted files?

No. If so, then might as well ask every single website / service that allows you to upload a file to check if it's pirated data.

Hi Edwyna,

You did not specify but I will start by giving you the free online backups services available. You may be surprised but the first backup storage service you have is your email address and this or any other emails like yahoo, hotmail and gmail. These are near and easy to access at a time of crisis. If you insist on cloud based backup then you might have to consider the iSpaces being a free multi-desktop cloud computer. It is an answer to any one and everyone surfing the web. Being that it is a browser within another browser you have it with you all the time. You can also open your previously opened windows instantly.

There are many backup softwares available for longtime now and new once releasing day by day but i suggest you to try Cloudbacko, which is really nice for data backup it provides free data backing up & storage like Google drive Dropbox etc
