Hello? I recently installed Monzila Firefox browser version 38.1 on my laptop but its not functioning well. It makes my computer to hang after ever 5 minutes upon starting it. When in YouTube it displays an error message of script failure then it crashes. Upon crashing a message is displayed by window explorer that Firefox is taking too long to close. Should l install another browser or a latter version of Firefox to prevent this from happening?
Monzila Firefox 38.1 browser hangs my laptop everytime
Mozilla Firefox is one of the best web browsers. It shouldn’t give up such issue.
First of all, uninstall the currently installed Firefox and get the latest Firefox from the official page. Get Firefox. Make sure to install the stable releases, not beta versions. Those contain lots of bugs that are still under development by Mozilla.
Next, make sure that you have got enough free RAM space because Firefox and Firefox-based browsers hosts only one process in the RAM where Chrome and Chrome-based browsers host several processes for functioning properly. When loading Firefox, make sure that you’ve got at least 512MB free RAM space, 1GB recommended.
If you have installed lots of plugins, extensions, themes etc., this problem will occur. Try restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled.
1. Start Firefox.
2. Press the “Alt” button.
3. From “Help” tab on the top, select “Restart with Add-Ons disabled”.
Try cleaning Firefox history, cache, cookies and others. Open Firefox, press and hold “Ctrl + Shift + Del”, check everything, select time range to “Everything” and click “Clear now”.
Try updating your Flash Player to the latest version. You can get the latest Flash Player for your Firefox from here.
If still the problem persists, you should consider changing your browser. You can go for Google Chrome, Safari, and Opera etc. as they are quite popular and secure, fast and powerful.
